The Qwen2.5 0.5B model is a lightweight and optimized version of the Qwen2.5 series, designed to efficiently handle natural language processing tasks. While it is a base model not specialized for conversational use, it excels in understanding structured data, generating long-form text (up to 8,000 tokens), and producing formatted outputs such as JSON. It supports an extended context of 128,000 tokens and covers over 29 languages, making it versatile for multilingual applications. Ideal for use cases requiring high precision or further fine-tuning, it can be refined through methods like supervised learning or reinforcement learning for specific applications. Its lightweight nature makes it a suitable choice for deployment on resource-constrained systems while still delivering strong performance in mathematics and programming.
Qwen2.5 is the latest series of Qwen large language models. For Qwen2.5, we release a number of base language models and instruction-tuned language models ranging from 0.5 to 72 billion parameters. Qwen2.5 brings the following improvements upon Qwen2:
This repo contains the base 0.5B Qwen2.5 model, which has the following features:
We do not recommend using base language models for conversations. Instead, you can apply post-training, e.g., SFT, RLHF, continued pretraining, etc., on this model.
For more details, please refer to our blog, GitHub, and Documentation.
The code of Qwen2.5 has been in the latest Hugging face transformers and we advise you to use the latest version of transformers.
With transformers<4.37.0, you will encounter the following error:

Detailed evaluation results are reported in this 📑 blog.
For requirements on GPU memory and the respective throughput, see results here.
